Picture 3 of 18

The First Lutheran Church at 619 Broadway was formed on September 17, 1917, through the merger of the First Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The site was purchased for $10,000. The first service in the new church was held in the basement on Christmas Day, 1919, with the first service in the sanctuary one year later. The church and new pipe organ were completed and dedicated in 1928 at a total cost of $145,000.
